A tomato sauce with a full-bodied and unique taste, thanks to the selection of fine raw materials and tradition. The tomatoes come from certified Italian producers; the vegetables and all the aromatic herbs are grown in the Favella gardens; the extra virgin olive oil is produced with a variety of olives typical of the Sibari plain, the “Dolce di Rossano”.
The recipe has been passed down through generations of women in the family and the copper pot is still used: cooking in an open basin and for a short time to give the flavour of a “freshly made sauce”.
Tomato and Cardoncello Sauce: From the Field to the Jar
The preparation of our delicate sauce begins with a delicate sauté of extra virgin olive oil and garlic. Once the garlic is removed from the copper pot, the cleaned, washed and chopped cardoncelli mushrooms are added. Cooking continues quite quickly, to preserve all the unmistakable and unique flavor of the mushroom. At the end of cooking, parsley, bay leaves and black pepper are added to ensure the taste of a traditional preparation.

Perfect to accompany any type of pasta, in the preparation of meat sauce and as a sauce for meat stews. Excellent in the preparation of pizzas, canapés and puff pastry. It can also be used in the preparation of the classic bruschetta.
