Growing Goji Berries: A Few Steps to Full Health

Have you always wanted to have your own personal supply of fresh goji berries? In our shop dedicated to goji nutraceutical , the lycium barbarum , you can also find goji seedlings, so you can grow goji berries at home too.

The goji plant is quite easy to grow : it adapts easily to all types of soil, especially neutral or slightly acidic ones.

You can admire the flowering in spring, while the precious berries, a source of many benefits, can be collected between June and October.

One of the most important things to do is to create a particularly draining soil , which facilitates the absorption of water (the goji plant fears water stagnation!). To do this, both quality universal soils and those mixed with silica sand or agriperlite are fine.

Another very important factor for a good harvest is that of right exposure to the sun : the goji plant deeply loves the sun's rays, so it is good to place the plant in a sunny place (for at least 5/6 hours a day). A particular fact? The goji is in love with the morning light, which makes its berries beautiful, large, tasty and rich in precious organoleptic properties.

Here are some more tips for getting the best goji berries ever!

  • irrigation: goji plants should be watered every 2/3 days, allowing the substrate to dry slightly;
  • fertilization: to keep all the organoleptic properties of goji berries intact, it is a good idea to use organic or bio products, such as urea and pelleted manure. If you want to make your goji berries better, try fertilizing them with potassium-based products before the fruits appear;
  • pruning: pruning can be done in autumn or spring. For a perfect yield remember to keep the plant at a height of 2-2.5 meters;
