ORGANIC AND NUTRACEUTICAL BASED ON GOJI BERRIES AND MORINGA OLEIFERA

A few years ago, we set the goal of creating nutraceutical products, that is, halfway between a nutrient and a drug with beneficial effects on the human body beyond purely nutritional ones.

We then chose to cultivate two plants with incredible nutritional properties on our lands: Goji Berries and Moringa Oleifera.

It seemed impossible to grow these plants in a territory different from their native one, but we won the challenge thanks to continuous research and the characteristics of the Sibari plain, becoming the first agricultural reality in Europe to cultivate goji.

But that's not all. Studies conducted by Domenico Montesano & Francesca Fallarino from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science and Nutrition Section of the University of Perugia, show that our goji berries have more than double the concentration, compared to Asian berries, of carotenoids and in particular zeaxanthin dipalmitate, an important antioxidant in counteracting the oxidative process of cells and in anti-tumor activity.

There would be much more to say, such as that we do not use chemical fertilizers, herbicides, GMOs, additives, dyes, and preservatives; or that we handpick the berries to preserve their organoleptic properties; or even that our products have antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and antidiabetic properties... but it is much simpler and engaging to watch this brief interview with the owner of Favella Nicolò Rizzo and the multi-starred Chef Enrico Bartolini who uses our products for his precious recipes. The interview is from a few years ago (2015) when the research by the University of Perugia mentioned above was not yet completed.
