Moringa Oleifera in Italy: We Made It Happen!

After our successful experiments with goji cultivation, we decided to try growing Moringa Oleifera, a tree native to the tropical and equatorial regions. That’s how we officially brought Moringa to Italy. But before explaining how we achieved this, let’s explore some key characteristics of the plant.

Moringa Oleifera: A Complete Nutritional Source

In one of our articles, we delve into the incredible properties of Moringa Oleifera. What makes Moringa unique is that every part of the plant is edible: roots, flowers, leaves, and seeds contain a full spectrum of proteins (a rarity in the plant kingdom), as well as abundant minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. Additionally, Moringa is a fast-growing plant—it germinates quickly and, when mature, blooms twice a year, allowing bees to produce a delightfully sweet honey.

The plant yields a wide range of products, from powder to honey, all beneficial for our health and well-being. Discover our Moringa Oleifera products.

Moringa in Italy: Key Considerations

As mentioned earlier, Moringa thrives in tropical and equatorial regions, meaning it loves warm climates. That’s why it adapted so well to the conditions in our fields, located in the heart of the Sibari Plain, which offers the ideal climate for its growth.

Moringa is highly adaptable to different soil types and drought conditions. In Italy and Europe, it’s often referred to as the “radish tree” because its roots emit an aroma similar to the vegetable.

In areas with mild frosts, Moringa can still be cultivated outdoors, as long as the frosts are not prolonged. Protecting the roots with straw can help prevent them from dying. Even if the external part of the plant perishes, it often regrows in spring if the roots remain intact.

Given our success in bringing Moringa to Italy, you can now find a variety of products made from this precious plant in our shop:
